BREAKING: Supremes To Hear Prop 8, DOMA Cases

According to SCOTUSBlog, the Supreme Court decided to hear two cases dealing with LGBT rights -- Perry v. Hollingsworth, a challenge to California's Proposition 8, and Windsor v. US, in which the 2nd circuit court of appeals ruled the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional.

Many were hoping that the justices would decline to hear Perry v. Hollingsworth, as that would have allowed a lower court's ruling that Prop 8 is unconstitutional to stand, and marriage equality would have been the law of the land. Now, LGBT couples in California will have to wait a bit longer.
