'Ghoulishness': Ann Coulter deletes 'incomprehensible' jab at Tim Walz’s son after backlash

Right-wing commentator Ann Coulter on Thursday published a now deleted post making fun of 2024 Democratic nominee Tim Walz's 17-year-old son, Gus, who has "a non-verbal learning disorder, an anxiety disorder and ADHD," according to the Minnesota governor's family.

During his Democratic National Convention address Wednesday night, Walz turned to wife, son, and daughter, saying: "Hope, Gus and Gwen–you are my entire world, and I love you."

The camera panned to Gus who was standing up, crying tears of joy, and pointing to his dad as he appeared to shout "that's my dad!"

Coulter on Thursday morning shared via X a photo of Gus sobbing, writing "Talk about weird..."

Governor Walz started a widely trend when he called Donald Trump and JD Vance "weird" earlier this month.

Social media users swiftly slammed Coulter for her remark.

The Tennessee Holler's X account wrote: "Breaking: Ann Coulter is a bad person."

Conservative commentator S.E. Cupp replied: "The level of ghoulishness, soullessness, and moral bankruptcy required to not just mock a CHILD…but a child with special needs…for LOVING his dad…is utterly incomprehensible."

The Lincoln Project's Rick Wilson added: "Ann Coulter will die alone, and forensic pathologist will discover her withered corpse is nothing but Marlboro reds and box wine."

Lawyer Bradley P. Moss wrote: "I’m sure someone having human emotions would be weird for you."

Former Disability Rights Arizona board chair Robb Vaules noted: "It looks like @AnnCoulter deleted her tweet about Gus Walz. Let this tweet be the end of her career."

According to TODAY, Walz and his wife Gwen have said: "Like so many American families, it took us time to figure out how to make sure we did everything we could to make sure Gus would be set up for success as he was growing up. It took time, but what became so immediately clear to us was that Gus’ condition is not a setback — it’s his secret power."
