Following Wednesday's indictment of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, sources close to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo say the ex-Democratic lawmaker is considering running for the job again, The Daily Beast reports, citing the New York Post.
However, Axios reported on Thursday that Cuomo floated the idea even before the indictment.
The former governor resigned from his gubernatorial post in 2021 amid sexual harassment allegations, which he continues to adamantly deny.

Per the Beast, "When asked about Cuomo’s political ambitions, a spokesperson told the Daily Beast in a statement, 'He’s previously said he’s had no plans to make plans and there’s been no change.'"
Adams — who now faces bribery and fraud charges — says he has no plans of resigning.
Axios notes that "Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, said in a Thursday press conference that Adams engaged in 'a grave breach of the public's trust.'
Williams emphasized: "These are bright red lines, and we allege that the mayor crossed them again and again for years."
