8 Republicans lose donor support over McCarthy disloyalty — Mace gets most 'blowback': report

Two Republican groups on Capitol Hill, according to an exclusive Sunday CNN report, "quietly dropped" US Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), as she and seven of her House GOP colleagues face major "blowback" for their disloyalty to former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

Per the report, as "emotions" remain "raw" within the party over McCarthy's September ouster, "donors no longer want to contribute to their campaigns. Primary opponents are lining up to take them out. And some of them have been ex-communicated from caucuses on Capitol Hill."

Furthermore, CNN notes, "A well-connected GOP outside spending group is planning to play in the races against" the South Carolina congresswoman and US Rep. Bob Good (R-VA) – who's possibly feeling "most incoming fire" alongside Mace — "while McCarthy himself is widely expected to get involved as well, according to multiple Republican sources familiar with the matter."

According to the report, Mace remains unmoved by the pushback, saying, "I’m too busy working for the Lowcountry and helping elect President Trump to worry about Kevin McCarthy’s puppet. The DC swamp doesn’t want me back — too bad. I don’t work for them, I work for the people of the 1st Congressional District and no one else."

Referring to the proud South Carolina leader, one House GOPer told the news outlet, "She really wants to be a caucus of one. So we obliged her."
