SCOTUS — no matter what — will 'find a way' to keep Trump on ballot: legal analyst

Donald Trump appealed to the US Supreme Court Wednesday the Colorado supreme court's December decision to disqualify him from the Republican primary ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
Although many legal experts applaud the Colorado high court's ruling — as the 14th Amendment's Section 3 prohibits any US "officer" from engaging in an insurrection — some experts, like CNN legal analyst Jennifer Rodgers, has little faith in the mostly conservative US Supreme Court.
CNN's Wolf Blitzer spoked to Rodgers Wednesday noting, "The supreme court, as we all know, is designed to settle these constitutional questions that do come up." He asked Rodgers, "How do you think they would weigh this issue if they do take up this case?"

The Columbia Law School professor replied, "Yeah. That's a great question, Wolf. I mean, this is the US Constitution we're talking about. This is the US Supreme Court that has the final word on what it means, and they have never spoken on this before. So, you know, it's anybody's guess what they do, except I think it's fair to say, or at least I think that despite what looks like a very persuasive opinion from the Colorado supreme court and a lot of strong arguments saying that he should be disqualified from the ballot under the plain wording of the provision, I feel that the supreme court is gonna find a way to say he stays on the ballot. It could be any of the reasons that [CNN host] Kaitlan [Collins] mentioned, the arguments that he makes, the legal ones, the factual ones, but I think that they are going to try to find a way to say that it doesn't apply to him, and I think that they will try to do that with as close to a unanimous court as they can because the court is always, especially these days, concerned with its own reputation and legitimacy."
