Don Jr and Vanilla Ice deny plans for a Donald Trump Presidential Library in South Florida — but Ice is open to the idea: report

On Friday, December 20, the Palm Beach Post reported that South Florida real estate broker James Arena was hoping to build a Donald J. Trump Presidential Library in Palm Beach County with the help of Donald Trump, Jr. and pop-rapper Vanilla Ice. But according to the Daily Beast’s Asawin Suebsaeng, the president’s son and Ice are both denying that such a plan is in the works.
The Post reported that if the project went through, a trailer park in Palm Beach County — where Arena and Ice both live — would be turned into a $1 billion Trump-themed library. Arena, saying he was a friend of Vanilla Ice, told the Post, “Vanilla Ice ran it by Donald Jr.. He called me back and said, ‘Man, I think they’re really into it.’”
But a spokesperson for Trump, Jr. told the Beast, “Don hasn’t spoken to anyone about building a presidential library and has never even met Vanilla Ice.” And Ice indicated that although he hasn’t spoken to Trump, Jr., he is open to the idea of a Donald J. Trump Presidential Library:
I don’t know Donald Trump Junior., don’t understand why they said that? but if they want me to build a library In P… https://t.co/arxDIMWzxj— Vanilla Ice (@Vanilla Ice) 1576975708.0
President Trump has long had a South Florida presence thanks to his Mar-a-Lago resort, but recently, he decided to increase that presence by filing paperwork to switch his primary residence from Manhattan to Palm Beach, Florida.
The Dallas-born Vanilla Ice, now 52, was a major crossover rap star in the late 1980s and early 1990s and was among the first white rappers to enjoy major commercial success — although the Beastie Boys preceded him with their multi-platinum 1986 album, Licensed to Ill.
Back in June, Suebsaeng notes, President Trump discussed the possibility of a presidential library during an interview with NBC News’ Chuck Todd. The president told Todd, “I have a lot of (possible) locations, actually. The nice part: I don’t have to worry about buying a location.”
