All hands abandon ship as Fox News staff jump overboard
Catherine Herridge, Fox News Screengrab

When Shep Smith jumped ship from Fox in the middle of his contract, there had to be at least a few wondering if the weight of propaganda was actually starting to hit some of the staff who actually thought of themselves as journalists.

Today, Fox News lost another talent — and as she moved to CBS News, she took a small bit of time to light a fire on what has become of Fox News. CBS News, where Herridge moves, laid it out this way:

"CBS News has always placed a premium on enterprise journalism and powerful investigations," Herridge said in a statement. "I feel privileged to join a team where facts and storytelling will always matter."

The implication, of course, is that at a certain point in her 23 year tenure at Fox News, facts stopped being important.

Catherine Herridge spent 23 years at Fox News, but before that, she had spent time in ABC News, and had a background in doing, well, actual news.

Herridge began her career as a London-based correspondent for ABC News before joining Fox News in 1996. At Fox, Herridge covered the intelligence community, the Justice Department and the Department of Homeland Security.

All Hands, Abandon Ship! All Hands, Abandon Ship!
