Trump implies that Comey, Page, Strozk and McCabe could deserve the death penalty
President Donald Trump suggested on Thursday that many of the people he's criticized in the FBI could deserve the death penalty.
A reporter noted at a White House event that the president has accused many people of "treason," which the Constitution says can be punished by death.
“You’ve accused your adversaries of treason," the reporter said. "Who are you talking about?”
Without dismissing the idea that the crime could merit the death penalty, Trump said that people like former FBI Director James Comey, former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, as well as FBI employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, all tried "to take down the wrong person."
“Look at Comey, McCabe, people higher than that,” Trump said. “If you look at Strzok, if you look at his lover, Lisa Page, his wonderful lover. They talked openly. They didn’t use their private server because they didn’t want to get caught. So they used the government server. That was not a good move. He talked about the insurance policy just in case crooked Hillary loses. That didn’t work out well for them. So you look at them.”
