Trump 2020 reelection campaign sponsors Laura Ingraham’s podcast
Although some of the less overtly partisan figures at Fox News will occasionally criticize President Donald Trump when they believe it is warranted, Fox News' opinion hosts remains an overtly pro-Trump. And one of Trump’s most vocal defenders at Fox has been Laura Ingraham — who is so pro-Trump that her May 28 podcast was sponsored in part by the president’s 2020 reelection campaign.
“The Laura Ingraham Podcast” is not part of Fox News but rather, is a side hustle for Ingraham — who was a far-right AM radio star long before Fox hired her. But like her cable show on Fox, the podcast underscores her overtly pro-Trump and anti-Democrat viewpoint. And one of the sponsors of her May 28 podcast was the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, a joint fundraising effort by Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC).
At the end of the May 28 episode, Ingraham said, “I want to thank all of our sponsors for supporting this show: Brush Hero, SeroVital and the Trump Make America Great Again Committee.”
In 2019, the 55-year-old Ingraham has transitioned from having a daily AM radio show to having a daily podcast. “The Laura Ingraham Podcast” is a show she does for PodcastOne, and a Fox News spokesperson stressed that Ingraham’s podcast is separate from her work for Fox — telling the Hollywood Reporter, “Laura Ingraham’s podcast is run independently of Fox News, and we have nothing to do with its sponsorships.”
It isn’t uncommon for prominent figures at Fox News to host audio programs on the side. Sean Hannity has a radio show, and Bill O’Reilly had a radio show while he was hosting “The O’Reilly Factor” (before Fox fired O’Reilly and canceled the program due to sexual harassment allegations that were frightening advertisers).
Ingraham previously worked for Fox News in 2008, hosting “Just In with Laura Ingraham” for only three weeks. But a much more lucrative deal with Fox came about when she was hired to host “The Ingraham Angle” in 2017.
