Watch: Parisians sing a haunting song as they see Notre Dame burn

Viewers around the world were struck by the horrifying scene of Notre Dame Cathedral burning on Monday.

The blaze appears to have resulted from the ongoing construction on the cathedral, and the fire destroyed much of the landmark's wooden structure for hours as countless looked on.

Ignacio Gil, a journalist in France, posted a haunting video of Parisians watching the conflagration. Unable to help save the building, they sang instead. Watch below:
