President Donald Trump has spent two days attacking the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) but there has not been a peep of defense coming from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) who was regarded as the late senator’s best friend in Congress when he was alive.

On Saturday, Trump launched an attack on McCain — who has been dead for seven months — tweeting, “Spreading the fake and totally discredited Dossier ‘is unfortunately a very dark stain against John McCain.’ Ken Starr, Former Independent Counsel. He had far worse ‘stains’ than this, including thumbs down on repeal and replace after years of campaigning to repeal and replace!”

Upping the attack on Sunday, he accused McCain of colluding with the Democrats to undermine him while mocking the Vietnam war veteran’s academic status during his time at the U.S. Naval College as “last in his class.”

While one might expect that Graham would rush to his friend’s defense, his latest tweet — posted on Saturday afternoon — celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with no mention of his buddy.

That has not gone unnoticed by Twitter users who remember Graham and McCain’s well-documented friendship as part of the “Three Amigos” with ex-Sen. Joe Liebermann (D-CT).

You can see Graham’s most recent tweet (at this writing) below, as well as Twitter users calling Graham out.
