Father of Sandy Hook shooting victim found dead from apparent suicide: police

The 49-year-old father of a shooting victim at the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre was found dead this week in what police say was an apparent suicide.

Local news station WFSB reports that Jeremy Richman’s body was found at the Newtown Town Hall on Monday morning. Although police say they believe he took his own life, they have not disclosed the specific cause of death.

Police say they have no reason at this time to suspect foul play.

Richman was the father of Avielle Richman, who was just six years old when she died during the Sandy Hook mass shooting that claimed the lives of 20 children and six adult staff members.
