The biggest news in Congress this week has been the announcement that Republicans and Democrats have worked out a compromise on border security that would avert another partial shutdown of the federal government if President Donald Trump agreed to it.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) was in the middle of making a speech on biofuels on Thursday when Senate Majority Leader McConnell (R-KY) interrupted to announce that Trump planned to sign it—and Grassley, who heads the Senate Judiciary Committee, was angry over the interruption.

When Grassley was asked to ask to yield the Senate floor, he kept talking. But eventually, he yielded the floor to McConnell. And, according to Politico's Jake Sherman, he angrily declared, “You’re rude! You’re just simply rude!”

After taking the floor, McConnell explained that Trump would sign the bipartisan bill averting a shutdown but also said that he would support Trump on a declaration of emergency in order for additional border security to be secured.
