WATCH: Trump-loving congressmen immediately tries to curtail Cohen hearing — and quickly fails

February 27, 2019
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen was scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee. Cohen was expected to tell Congress about Donald Trump’s various dealings with Russia as well as pay offs to women claiming to have been his mistresses.
But even before Cohen spoke, Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) tried to halt the hearing, claiming that protocol was violated because Cohen’s testimony was shared too late with Republicans and that they had not had adequate time to prepare.
“Mr. Chairman, when you were in the minority, you wouldn’t have stood for it and I can tell you that we should not stand for it as a body,” Meadows said.
