'The president's nightmare': Trump biographer predicts Cohen's revelation could lead to unimagined consequences for Ivanka and Don Jr.
Michael D'Antonio, a biographer of President Donald Trump, pointed out a key vulnerability for the president revealed in the latest guilty plea by his former lawyer Michael Cohen.
In Cohen's plea, which admitted to lying to Congress about his work on a deal to develop a Trump Tower Moscow with Russian officials on the president's behalf during the 2016 campaign, he said that he consulted with members of the Trump family (and Donald Trump himself) about the project.
"The people most likely to be involved would have been Ivanka Trump and Donald Jr.," D'Antonio told CNN's Brooke Baldwin. "This is not the kind of project that Eric [Trump] would have had much to do with. This is, I think, the president's nightmare: The idea that his daughter and his son could be drawn into this web, and not only smeared but perhaps subject to criminal investigation — that the whole family enterprise could be threatened by this..."
He added: "We're now looking at his children. They're going to need to lawyer up. And they could face consequences that aren't even imagined right now."
