Watch These Fox News Hosts Realize They Booked the Wrong Democrat - And Panic As She Rips Into Trump
Fierce criticism of the Trump administration’s barbaric “zero tolerance” policy finally broke through during Fox News morning programming—but by total accident.
Fox & Friends First thought they had booked Democratic candidate Ann Kirkpatrick, who was booed during a debate last month after she said she would support Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents “without any increased oversight.” Who they got was a Massachusetts state senator and Congressional candidate, who let ‘em have it when host Jillian Mele asked “Kirkpatrick” why she supports ICE.
“Good morning. I’m actually here to speak directly to Donald Trump,” the guest began. “I feel that what’s happening at the border is wrong. I’m a mother of four, and I believe that separating kids from their parents is illegal and inhumane.” Neither of the two hosts jumped in with anything in response, so she went on without missing a beat.
“I’m actually Barbara L’Italien,” she continued. “I’m a state senator representing a large immigrant community. I’m running for Congress in Massachusetts. I keep thinking about what we’re putting parents through, imagining how terrifying that must be for those families, imagining how it would feel not knowing if I’d ever see my kids again. We have to stop abducting children and ripping them from their parents’ arms—“
“Uh, okay—“ co-host Rob Schmitt interrupted, sounding a little startled. “You—you—“
But L’Italien was still going on, undeterred. “—stop putting kids in cages, and stop making 3-year-old defend themselves in court—” Schmitt jumped in, apparently still not realizing it wasn’t Kirkpatrick. “But that—that—practice has stopped at this point Ms. Kirkpatrick, right?”
L’Italien’s feed got a little choppy then, but she said something to the effect of “score political points with your base,” no doubt directed at Trump. Shit, the cohosts probably thought, this is during executive television time! Mele jumped in to defend him, claiming that “kids have been reunited with their families.” That’s a lie—with Judge Dana Sabraw’s reunification deadline just days away, only about 500 out of 2,500 children kidnapped by the administration have been returned to parents.
“Again my name is Barbara L’Italien,” she responded, “and I refuse to believe—“
“Yeah, okay,” Schmitt interrupted, the light bulb above his head finally turning on. “Who is this? Who is this?” But L’Italien was still going: “—that our only options are open borders or traumatizing children—” Her feed then “cut out.”
“Okay,” Schmitt said. “Okay,” Mele said. “Alright,” he continued. “That didn’t go as planned.”
It sure didn’t. Amazing.
