'Dealing with Hard Questions Is Part of the Job': CNN's Chris Cuomo Slams Trump for Hiding from Real Interviews
On the second night of CNN's new show "Cuomo Prime Time," host Chris Cuomo criticized President Donald Trump for avoiding tough interviews and press conferences, noting that the president is always welcome to sit down on his show.
“The president is invited to come on this show anytime he wants," Cuomo said to former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci. "It's an open offer.”
"He's probably not going to come on your show, Chris," Scaramucci said.
"And what does that tell you, by the way," Cuomo said. "Listen! He's the president of the United States. Being irritated is part of the job. Dealing with hard questions is part of the job. He's taken another path."
Scaramucci said he would encourage the president to go on a wider array of outlets. Trump hasn't sat down for an interview with any mainstream news channel for about a year, though he continues to give interviews to Fox News. He occasionally talks to the press pool to answer select questions.
"He can answer any tough question, he can handle any situation," Scaramucci said.
"And yet he won't," Cuomo said.
