Trump Has Been Yelling Out of Oval Office for Hope Hicks, Only to Find She Isn't There

News & Politics

White House communications director Hope Hicks has officially exited the White House. If President Donald Trump's response to her reduced presence over the past few weeks is any indication, he is not handling her departure well.

"White House staffers are actually worried about what a post-Hicks era is going to look like in the West Wing,"  CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins said. She recounted a bizarre anecdote about Trump's behavior during Hicks' closing days in the job from White House sources.

"[A]t times, the president has yelled out her name from the Oval Office trying to summon her in there only to find that she's not there," Collins said.

Released video shows the president pulling Hicks in for a cheek kiss before she departed the White House on her final day.
