Did Fox News Just Talk Trump Into Opening a New Investigation of Hillary Clinton?

In a Tuesday tweet, President Donald Trump seemed to gleefully cite Fox News’s Judge Andrew Napolitano for the assumption that the Justice Department is hiding evidence of illegal activity by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“He’s got a very good point. Somebody in the Justice Department has a treasure trove of evidence of Mrs. Clinton’s criminality at her own hands, or through others, that ought to be investigated. I fully agree with the President on that,” Trump said in a tweet citing Napolitano on Martha MacCallum’s show.

He went on to cite attorney and commentator Jonathan Turley, who was also speaking on Fox News.

“I’ve been skeptical about the collusion and obstruction claims for the last year. I just don’t see the evidence. … in terms of the collusion, it’s all a bit implausible based on the evidence we have,” Trump quoted.

“We’ve seen NO EVIDENCE OF COLLUSION….I have seen nothing, the firing of James Comey and all of the aftermath, that suggests that the President has obstructed justice because he’s exercising his power as the President of the U.S. I just don’t see it,” Trump then quoted former Clinton special prosecutor Ken Starr.

Later, Trump tweeted simply, “WITCH HUNT!”—though it wasn’t clear if he was implying that about Clinton or special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Presumably, it is the latter.
