Chris Matthews Caught Making Disgusting 'Bill Cosby Pill' Rape Joke About Hillary Clinton in 2016

A leaked video published by The Cut on Friday shows MSNBC host Chris Matthews making a rape joke about former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016 prior to a scheduled interview with the candidate in Iowa.

"Can I have some of the queen’s waters? Precious waters?" Matthews says in the video, which also features production staff. "Where’s that Bill Cosby pill I brought with me?"

He followed the remarks with a self-satisfied laugh as at least one staffer standing nearby responded with visible shock.

Matthews released a brief statement to The Cut about the incident. "This was a terrible comment I made in poor taste during the height of the Bill Cosby headlines," he wrote. "I realize that's no excuse. I deeply regret it and I'm sorry."

We reached out to MSNBC to ask if Matthews faced disciplinary action, but did not receive a response prior to publication.

The disturbing video can be seen below.
