Two More Women Accuse Sen. Al Franken of Touching Them Inappropriately
Two additional women have come forward to claim Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) inappropriately touched their backsides, according to the Huffington Post.
One woman said her rear was touched on July 25, 2007, while posing for a photo with the senator at a Minneapolis event hosted by the Minnesota Women’s Political Caucus. Another says Franken groped her backside at a 2008 Democratic fundraiser in Minnesota and asked her to accompany him to the bathroom.
“It’s difficult to respond to anonymous accusers, and I don’t remember those campaign events," Franken said in a statement to HuffPost.
While Franken denied the bathroom part of the account, the absence of a definitive denial was noteworthy.
“My mother loves Al Franken. She listened to Air America [on which Franken had a radio show] every day,” one of the accusers said. ”I saw him and asked if we could take a photo together for my mother, and we stood next to each other ... and down his hand went.”
She stated that her allegations are not politically motivated, and says she is a liberal who voted for Franken.
