Trump Organization Turns Over Documents Revealing Unreported Contacts With Russia in 2016: Report

Federal investigators received documents about two previously-unreported contacts between the Trump Organization and Russia, sources close to the matter told the Washington Post on Monday.

One instance took place weeks before the Republican National Convention, and saw President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen exchange emails with a “business associate” about attending an economic conference in Russia that would be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Another involving Cohen took place in late 2015, when he fielded a proposal from a Russian billionaire who used to sit on the country’s Senate for a Moscow residential building. The latter was “the second proposal for a Trump-branded Moscow project that was delivered to the company during the presidential campaign and has since come to light,” the Post noted.

Cohen became a target in the investigation into potential collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign after his name appeared in the 35-page “golden showers” dossier written by former British spy Christopher Steele.
