Chris Cuomo Shuts Down a Nonsensical Kellyanne Conway Mid-Rant on Gun Violence

Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway went into a long rant about CNN spending too much time covering the Russia scandal on Thursday, despite the fact that she was actually asked a question about when it’s the appropriate time to talk about gun violence in the United States.

During an interview on CNN, Chris Cuomo asked Conway when it would be the appropriate time to talk about restricting access to certain weapons, given that President Donald Trump said it would be inappropriate in the wake of a tragedy like the one in Las Vegas this week.

Conway quickly pivoted to attacking Hillary Clinton.

“This conversation [about guns] wasn’t being had until tragedies like this strike by those who try to be the loudest voices,” Conway said. “You see Hillary Clinton talking about herself, not talking about this. You see her rushing to judgement the other day on Twitter, while people are still looking through the rubble, searching the hospital for their missing loved ones, trying to politicize it.”

Conway then noted that Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) had spent more time this year tweeting about the Russia scandal than gun violence — and she then scolded CNN for doing the same thing.

“Your obsession with Russia has been to the exclusion of this conversation,” she said.

“Kellyanne,” an exasperated Cuomo replied. “A lot of this just doesn’t wash.”
