Watch: Seth Meyers Wants to Return Trump After Pastor Calls Him 'Gift' from God


Host Seth Meyers skewered President Donald Trump’s clergy on NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers, highlighting the ridiculous prayer circle Trump convened essentially to congratulate himself on the response to Hurricane Harvey.

But Meyers saved his starkest criticism for Texas pastor Robert Jeffress, an evangelical who suggested Trump enjoys authority from god to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

“This country has been bitterly divided for decades upon decades and now you have given us a gift—President Donald Trump,” Jeffress said in his public prayer with Trump after the hurricane.

Meyers wasn’t having it.

“Far be it from me to criticize god, but he is a terrible gift-giver!” the host said. “Did Trump come with a gift receipt?”
