Paul Ryan's Border Wall Commercial Is Every Bit as Shameless and Disgusting as It Sounds
It wasn’t that long ago when Speaker Paul Ryan dismissed the idea of a massive wall along the entirety of the U.S/Mexico border, so maybe now after this early-2000s-dance-party-meets-an-Axe-body-spray-wearing-Wisconsin-cowboy-at-Crossfit commercial promoting Donald Trump’s ineffective and immoral wall that actual border Republicans don’t really want anyway, we can dispel once and for all with this fiction that Paul Ryan has any spine whatsoever and will ever stand by anything from three seconds ago, including his own words:
RT if you agree→ It is time for The Wall. https://t.co/s5MO8SG7SL— Paul Ryan (@Paul Ryan) 1501594644.0
We can establish the fact that basically only Ryan is less popular than Trump and his godforsaken wall. Another fact is that a combination of Obama-era immigration enforcement and improved conditions in Mexico have already made the border the most secure it’s been in years. And yet another fact is that the GOP’s legislative agenda is up in flames, so it’s no surprise Wisconsin’s spineless wonder needed something for the base, despite knowing very well that the bill containing nearly $2 billion for the wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for faces pretty tough odds in the Senate according to MSNBC’s Steve Benen. You don’t say. I mean, when has Paul Ryan not done anything politically craven?
