WATCH: CNN Panel Laughs in Trump Supporter’s Face Over His Desperate Spin on Leaks

News & Politics

Trump backer Ben Ferguson appeared on CNN Thursday morning to downplay the massive turmoil occurring in the White House right now — but he found himself simply getting laughed at in response.

When asked by CNN’s Alisyn Camerota why incoming White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci seemed to blame White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus for the leaking of his financial disclosure form in a tweet posted late Wednesday night, Ferguson tried to claim that Scaramucci was simply trying to inform Priebus his disclosure form had leaked to the press, not blame the chief of staff for it.

“They both agree that the leaks are a problem,” Ferguson insisted. “Reince has been very clear at the White House, especially recently, that leaks are a massive problem. I do not believe for a second when he tagged him he was accusing Reince Priebus of anything.”

This prompted panelist Bill Kristol to loudly snicker. Kristol explained that the release of Scaramucci’s disclosure wasn’t a criminal leak because it was not a piece of classified information.

“Why is it called a financial disclosure form?” he asked. “Because it’s meant to be disclosed.”
