Seth Meyers Delivers a Takedown of Senate Republicans to End All Takedowns of Senate Republicans

While much of the country is focused on Trump's expanding collusion scandal, the GOP is inching ever closer to passing the House's calamitous health care legislation.

"Today Trump held a meeting at the White House on Obamacare as senators worked secretly behind closed doors to write a bill that could take health insurance away from 23 million Americans," "Late Night" host Seth Meyers opened on Tuesday's "Closer Look." "But as usual, Trump seemed less concerned with the substance of the bill, and more concerned with himself."

"I've been talking about repealing and replacing Obamacare now for almost two years," Trump announced, before veering wildly off topic. "Don't forget," Trump told attendees. "June 14th is my birthday."

To which Meyers retorted, "Unless you're 7 or younger, stop telling people when your birthday is."

"Trump also complained that there are no Democrats who support the GOP health care bill," Meyers added. "But that's because there are no Democrats who know what's in the GOP health care bill."

Like their House colleagues, Senate Republicans are attempting to conceal information about the controversial Obamacare replacement bill, even prohibiting reporters from asking questions in hallways

"In fact, Republicans are engaged in one of the most breathtakingly cynical acts of governance in modern history," Meyers hammered. "They're trying to write and pass a health care bill without telling anyone what's in it."

Confronted with their refusal to publicly release a draft, one Senate GOP aide said, "We aren't stupid."

"To paraphrase 'the dude,'" Meyers quipped in response. "You're not stupid, you're just an *sshole."
