Samantha Bee Hilariously Debunks One of the Right's Dumbest Myths About the Left

With the Fourth of July right around the corner, "Full Frontal" host Samantha Bee is feeling nostalgic for the slow news days of summer. Instead, the headlines are dominated by terrorist attacks, Republican efforts to gut Medicaid and Democratic finger-pointing following Jon Ossoff's defeat in Georgia.

"The Georgia Sixth [District] is a long-time Republican seat once held by Newt Gingrich, which would explain the thin film of slime still stuck to the seat," Bee quipped. "But it was a coveted seat nonetheless."

Democrats were desperate for a win after going 0 for this year's special elections. Meanwhile, Republicans fought tooth and nail to keep the seat red, pumping tens of millions of dollars into an election that would become the most expensive House race of all time.

Attempting to paint Karen Handel's Democratic opponent Jon Ossoff as the voice of the "unhinged left," Principled PAC released an attack ad insisting those "cheering last week's shooting (of Congressman Steve Scalise) [were] all backing Jon Ossoff."

"Oh, that must be why he lost," deadpanned Bee.

"The cheering of last week's shooting demographic is basically zero," she continued. "The unhinged left is even less powerful than the hinged left, which is saying a lot. But the right is kind of short on bogeymen these days."
