Fox News' Chris Wallace Nails Trump's Lawyer in a Brazen Lie

On Sunday, Fox News host Chris Wallace hoped to get to the bottom of President Trump's latest claims regarding the Russian collusion investigation led by Robert Mueller.

"I want to start with the president's tweet Friday... 'I am being investigated for firing the FBI director by the man who told me to fire the FBI director! Witch Hunt,'" Wallace told attorney Jay Sekulow, a lead member of President Trump's legal team.

"Has the special counsel Robert Muller formally notified the president that he is under investigation?" Wallace asked.

"The president has not been notified by anyone that he's under investigation," Sekulow answered.

According to Sekulow, Trump's tweet was sent in response to a "Washington Post story that alleged that five unnamed sources, anonymous sources, leaked to the Washington Post that the president was in fact under investigation."

"There's been no notification of any investigation. Nothing's changed since James Comey said the president was not a target or a subject to investigation," he added. But moments later, Sekulow reversed his position, claiming he was simply unaware whether an investigation of the president was taking place.

"You don't know that he's not under investigation..." Wallace said.

"You're right, Chris," admitted Sekulow. "I can't read the mind of the special prosecutor."

"Okay, well good, we're in agreement," noted Wallace. "You don't know whether he's under investigation or not."
