BREAKING: Multiple Pedestrians Stabbed and At Least One Dead in London Attack that Appears Organized
Reports are coming in from London of 15 to 20 pedestrians stabbed on the London Bridge, while at least 20 people were plowed down by a white van and unconfirmed reports of a stabbing on June 3.
Authorities have pointed to a possible organized terrorist attack. According to the Daily Mail UK, “There are unconfirmed reports that least seven people have been stabbed as witnesses told of bodies 'strewn' on the road at the landmark in central London. One of the casualties is reportedly a police officer.”
In a report from the Sun, “A van has mowed down pedestrians in central London before victims were stabbed and shots were fired, amid a second ‘attack’ at nearby Borough Market which armed police are responding to.”
The incident is reportedly ongoing and authorities are responding.
Update 6/3/17 at 5:20pm: The Washington Post reports" at least one person has been killed in what authorities are not officially calling a suspected terror attack. London’s Metropolitan Police said the events were being treated as 'terrorist incidents.'"
The Post also reports that the white van that collided with guardrails near pedestrians later drove to the popular and packed Borough Market where multiple stabbings occurred and several witnesses reported gunfire.
Joe Dillon, 23, told the Post, “I heard many gunshots and I heard people running away... Police officers were shouting: ‘Get out of here, you need to go!’ I heard at least eight rounds of gunshots, but I’m not sure who was shooting. When I arrived a second after I had heard the screams and the shots, I saw five or six officers running toward the van.”
