Jimmy Kimmel Has Only Two Words for United Airlines CEO After Its Viral Video Disgrace
A viral video of police officers dragging a passenger from a United Airlines flight left the country aghast Monday, and even the likes of Jimmy Kimmel felt the need to weigh in.
"Have you seen that video of the guy getting dragged off the United flight?" Kimmel asked. "I've been to hundreds of games and stadiums with 50,000 seats. They never sell the same seat two times."
When airlines are overbooked, they typically offer incentives for passengers to surrender their seats. But after their offer of $800 was declined, United staff elected to forcibly remove one of the airline's paying customers.
"Three of them got up begrudgingly and got off, but one of the passengers said he was a doctor [who] had to be at the hospital in the morning so he refused to deplane," Kimmel explained.
"They roughed him up, and the reason they were overbooked is because they were trying to get four United Airlines employees on board," he explained.
Perhaps most despicable, he concluded, was the feckless apology from the United CEO.

"I apologize for having to re-accommodate these customers," Kimmel read. "Re-accommodate. Just like we re-accommodated El Chapo out of Mexico."
"That is such sanitized, say nothing, take no responsibility corporate BS-speak," he continued. "I don't know how the guy who sent that tweet didn't vomit when he typed it out."
