Stephen Colbert Captures the Nepotism of Trump's White House in One Glorious Gag

Defying all logic and reason, Ivanka Trump has secured her own office in the West Wing. Stephen Colbert is as amused as he is horrified.

Ivanka will serve as the president's "eyes and ears," explained the "Late Show" host. "No word yet on who will be operating his brain!"

"[Trump has] hired his daughter as assistant to the president, his son-in-law [Jared Kushner] as his senior adviser and put Eric and Donald Jr. in charge of the national hair gel reserve," Colbert joked.

According to the New York Times, which broke the news, the administration created the position specifically for Ivanka to escape scrutiny from ethics experts. But now Colbert's not sure who's doing what in the White House.

"Can we put up the White House chore wheel?" he asked, flashing to an icon seen on family fridges across the country.

"OK, this week, Ivanka's on domestic policy, Jared's on foreign policy and looks like the president is loading the dishwasher again," Colbert quipped. "It's a big responsibility. You gotta pre-rinse!"

If this all sounds bizarre, remember that Donald Trump’s son reportedly offered Ohio Governor John Kasich the job of "most powerful vice president in history." Trump was going to have his hands full "making America great again."
