Samantha Bee's 'White Plight' Episode Nails Fallacy of 'Reverse Racism' in New Trump Era

"Full Frontal" host Samantha Bee is back to tackle all things Trumpmania in her first show of the new year.

"One thing 2016 taught us, apart from how to speed-read an obituary, was that a lot of working-class white people are upset and feel their concerns have been ignored," Bee opened. "Message received. Thanks, guys."

Her New Year's resolution? To better understand the "white plight" that sent Caucasian Americans to the polls in droves for Trump.

"For starters, I'm officially making my favorite season of 'The Wire' that one with all the white people," she joked.

"But that is not enough, because, unlike other Americans struggling with job insecurity, declining wages, addiction, anxiety, and shitty schools, white people also have to cope with discrimination."

Take Bo Bice, for instance. The Alabama-based "American Idol" runner-up was reportedly brought to tears by what he felt was "racial discrimination" at a Popeye's restaurant.

"Trigger warning—there's some hate speech coming up," Bee announced before playing a Fox 5 news clip highlighting the incident. According to the segment, an employee at the Popeye's Chicken in Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport made a racial comment at the former reality TV star.

"Oh, oh, oh, what was it? Wait, don't tell me. Was it 'peckerwood,' 'ofay,' 'cracker,' 'honky,' 'gweilo,' 'gringo,' 'hillbilly,' 'redneck,' 'hick,' 'trailer trash,' 'eight mile,' 'baba,' 'blowfish,' 'gabacho,' 'Wonder Bread, 'Casper,' 'washisho,' 'hayseed,' or 'guero'?" Bee rattled off.

Unsurprisingly, none of the above. So what caused Bice to have a meltdown on Facebook and Bee to be ashamed of America this week?
