Robert Reich Issues Dire Warning to 'Thin-Skinned, Vindictive' Trump

Robert Reich has had enough of Donald Trump's ridiculous twitter attacks, and it was Trump's remarks to a union head Wednesday that finally pushed him over the edge. Former Labor Secretary Reich appeared on Anderson Cooper 360° moments after Union Steelworkers 1999 union head Chuck Jones spoke on CNN about Trump's "false promises" and Carrier deal.

And Trump, always watching, was quick to issue a rebuttal: "Chuck Jones, who is President of United Steelworkers 1999, has done a terrible job representing workers. No wonder companies flee country!" the President-elect tweeted.

Reich took the opportunity to address the president directly.

"Let me just say with all due respect, Mr. Trump,” Reich began. “You are president-elect of the United States. You are looking and acting as if you are mean and petty, thin-skinned and vindictive. Stop this. This is not a fire side chat. This is not what F.D.R. did. This isn’t lifting people up."

Reich then slammed Trump for attacking Boeing, Alec Baldwin and various journalists, observing what Trump really wants, at least according to these tweets.

"What you, Mr. Trump, what you would like is for no one, not a CEO, nobody on television, no journalist to criticize you," Reich said.

He also noted that Trump will soon have not just Twitter, but government agencies such as the CIA, the IRS, and the FBI at his disposal, which could be potentially disastrous.

"If you have this kind of thin-skinned, vindictive attitude toward anybody who criticizes you, we are in very deep trouble, and sir, so are you," Reich warned Trump.
