Even After Winning, Trump Still Rails Against 'Rigged System'
President-elect Donald Trump is spending his final weeks as a private citizen on a "thank-you" tour across America and making some candid statements along the way. Last week, Trump visited Michigan, where he and his predominantly white crowd applauded lower voter turnout among African Americans. This week he told Wisconsin supporters he actually expected to lose. And Thursday night in Hershey, Pennsylvania, the president-elect went on a fascinating tangent about the "rigged system."
"Remember I told you it's a rigged system?" Trump asked the crowd, after calling the three-state recount operation (which included Pennsylvania) "a scam."
"It's terrible," he continued. "And not rigged for us. Believe me—other way around."
Despite losing the popular vote by a greater margin than any U.S. president in history, Donald Trump won the election due to the Electoral College.
