KKK Plans Victory Rally for Trump in North Carolina

In Trump's America, the KKK is newly emboldened. A North Carolina chapter of the KKK is holding a rally in North Carolina to celebrate the victory of their preferred candidate, Donald Trump, the News and Observer reported Thursday.

The group, The Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, is based in Pelham, NC, a small  unincorporated town near the Virginia border. While earlier reports of a KKK rally were debunked, the reports of this rally appear to be legitimate. According to a a woman named Amanda, who declined to give her last name to Snopes, aside being planned for December 3, the parade will be "unannounced." The group's website gives no additional details as to time or location, only that is will be a "Victory Klavalkade Klan Parade” and that "Trump’s race united my people.”

The same group was behind a South Carolina rally protesting the removal of the Confederate Flag from the state's capitol building.

Trump won North Carolina by 5 points, amidst widespread reports of voter suppression. The state is still awaiting the results of the governor's race, which as of Friday morning is still too close to call. Democrat Roy Cooper has a razor thin lead over the Republican incumbent, Pat McCrory, infamous for the anti-transgender HB2 bathroom law. There are still 50,000 provisional ballots to sift through, and though the process is set to conclude November 18th, either side could still demand a recount. It remains to be seen who the governor will be when the rally occurs.
