Colbert Busts Trump's Complete Inability to Accept Reality

GOP nominee Donald Trump is continuing his awful week by still refusing to accept election results—unless he wins! More sexual assault allegations and a disastrous debate performance have contributed to the Trump Train going off the tracks. But we've said that before.

“Trump is no longer accepting the polls. Or reality,” "Late Show" host Colbert joked late Thursday, mocking Trump's burning desire to keep America in "suspense" of whether or not he'll accept the election results.

“Yes, suspense. That’s presidential," Colbert said in response. "It reminds me of FDR’s first inaugural.. The only thing to fear is… Stay tuned to find out!" FDR appeared to say in the "Late Show"'s hilarious dubbed footage.

"Spoiler alert: It was the Nazis,” added Colbert.

“Now, a lot of people say not promising to accept the results disqualifies Trump from the presidency,” Colbert continued.“So, today, Trump assured voters that he believes in the peaceful transfer of power.”

"Today, I would like to promise and pledge to all of my voters and supporters and to all the people of the United States that I will totally accept the results of this great ahd historic presidential election if I win," Trump said on Thursday.

Trump's supporters cheered, but the "Late Show" audience appeared to have an adverse reaction

“Oh, come on!” Colbert said as his audience booed. “You’ve got to give it to him! You know, you really got me for a second there! I actually believed you had a shred of integrity. What an amazing psych-out. It’s like that classic joke where you offer to shake somebody’s hand, but when they go to shake it, you undermine our system of government.” "The fate of the American experiment rests in Donald Trump’s tiny, whining, loser hands."

We're at a unique place in American history, Colbert concluded.

"The fate of the American experiment rests in Donald Trump’s tiny, whining, loser hands," the "Late Show" host mused.

He just couldn't resist.
