Comedian Lewis Black Has Some Sidesplittingly Bad News for Trump Supporters
Contrary to what Jon Stewart once said, Donald Trump's candidacy has been terrible for comedians, Lewis Black insisted on “Late Night With Seth Meyers." Black joined Meyers Wednesday to promote his Broadway show and discuss the barrage of election coverage currently driving him insane.
"The news is funny. All you have to do is go 'ta-da,'" Black said, motioning for Meyers.
Black does still watch cable news, although it does not always have the desired effect.
"I turn it on and then I lose my mind," Black told Meyers.
"They've got to be stopped," Black insisted. "Four analysts for anything that happens. 'What does deplorable mean?'" he asked, imitating pundits who have managed to drag out Hillary Clinton's comments made at a recent fundraiser for nearly an entire week.
"It means deplorable, jack*ss!" Black exclaimed. "I know what I heard. These are ears, schmuck."
And the only thing Black seems to detest more than analysts are surrogates.
“The analysts aren’t enough, you’ve got to have somebody defend the person who’s not there,” Black told Meyers sarcastically. “The only time I’ve ever heard the word ‘surrogate’ used is ‘sexual surrogate.’ So whenever I see a [Donald] Trump surrogate or a Hillary [Clinton] surrogate, I feel like they've sent them on—instead of Donald and Hillary screwing us, they’ve sent these surrogates on to screw us. It’s still very sexual.”
As for Trump's supporters, Black had a harsh message.
“If you vote for Donald Trump, you’re going to go to hell.” said Black, who says he regularly speaks with God on his hotline.
“Every time He talks to Mike Huckabee, he calls me up in order to calm down,” Black said. “He gets so wound up, he’s got all that kind of nonsense going on, and God doesn’t have time for that.”
