Seth Meyers Tangles With Trump and Hillary's Tit-for-Tat

On "Late Night With Seth Meyers," the host issued a scathing warning for voters, just in case they weren't fully aware of the sexism and expectations at play in the 2016 election.

"Donald Trump called Mexicans rapists and has called you and your supporters a hundred different names, but there is a double standard at play in this election,” Meyers cautioned Hillary Clinton. “Sure, it’s patently unfair, but you can’t play tit-for-tat with Donald Trump because the media is only going to talk about your tats and completely ignore his tits.”

Last Friday, Clinton called out Trump supporters in a type of insult it wasn't clear they'd even understand.

"'Basket of deplorables' sounds like what they call the bargain bin at Neiman Marcus,” joked Meyers. “What’s the matter? You couldn’t think of an insult that made you sound like a richer, whiter lady?”

"If you're going to get into the gutter with Trump, you have to do better than that," Meyers added. “Don’t bring a Vera Wang shrimp fork to a knife fight."

The older-sister, younger-brother dynamic of the 2016 election has created a never before seen phenomenon in American politics.

“Basically Trump is Ferris Bueller and you’re his sister, Jeanie," Meyers explained, as if speaking directly to Clinton. "Trump can cut school, dance on a parade float, claim to be the sausage king of Chicago, but you, Hillary, you should know better! You were secretary of state while he was televising a Gary Busey job interview. The rules are different for you!”
