Reince Priebus Tells Hillary Clinton to Smile When Speaking With Families of Dead Soldiers: Internet Destroys Him
GOP Chair Reince Priebus had an interesting take on MSNBC's Commander in Chief forum, sponsored by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. During the forum, both Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump were allotted a half hour to answer questions from veterans in the audience and host Matt Lauer.
Rather than critiquing Clinton on a substantive position, Priebus tweeted late Wednesday:
@HillaryClinton was angry + defensive the entire time - no smile and uncomfortable - upset that she was caught wrongly sending our secrets.— Reince Priebus (@Reince Priebus)1473298032.0
Clinton was quick to respond:
Actually, that’s just what taking the office of President seriously looks like. https://t.co/Pyn92mesom— Hillary Clinton (@Hillary Clinton)1473298844.0
As did so many who agreed with her:
smile, baby. https://t.co/9XDWTSqrsZ— Emmy Bengtson (@Emmy Bengtson)1473299167.0
Yes, but Clinton didn't smile enough! https://t.co/hvLr3CIzct— Norman Ornstein (@Norman Ornstein)1473303359.0

TRUMP: I blame women for sexual assault CLINTON: I didn’t smile MEDIA: Equally bad night for the candidates— Daniel Lin (@Daniel Lin)1473302662.0
Ha, @Reince, Chair of GOP, told Hillary Clinton to smile. Don't you worry, buddy: she'll be smiling a lot on Election Night. #NBCNewsForum— Charlotte Clymer 🏳️🌈 (@Charlotte Clymer 🏳️🌈)1473302357.0
"People. Reince actually said HRC needed to smile more. This is real." @CNNPolitics https://t.co/KdUv57NGrV— Eugene Scott (@Eugene Scott)1473304457.0
And some just wanted to get the facts straight:
Not that Clinton's not used to this sexism; it's been documented her entire career.
