When asked about the environmental impact of his UK golf course, Trump told Channel 4 News:
I’m an environmentalist. I’ve won many awards from the environment and for the environment and what I’ve done to enhance the environment and what we’ve done here is stabilize the dunes which is a great enhancement. We’ve stopped the killings of thousands and thousands of birds a year with the lead poisoning the land, in addition to building what will be the greatest course.
That was in 2011. Trump's last vist to the golf course was in July, just after his campaign announcement. Coincidentally, June 23 is the day of the UK’s Brexit Vote, though until yesterday, Trump appeared unaware of what Brexit was.
"Huh?" he answered, when Michael Wolff, a journalist from The Hollywood Reporter asked Trump his position on whether the Brits should leave the EU.
Trump then stated that he thinks they should leave.
“It is hard not to feel that Trump understands himself, and that we're all in on this kind of spectacular joke,” Wolff said, regarding his own interactions firsthand with the GOP nominee.
