'She Was Unconscious': Student Who Aided in Stanford Rapist’s Arrest Speaks Out

For the first time since Stanford swimmer and convicted rapist Brock Turner was arrested in January 2015, one of two Swedish graduate students now hailed as heroes for assisting in his arrest are speaking out.

In an interview with CBS News on Tuesday, Carl Fredrik-Arndt described how he and his friend Peter found Turner “aggressively thrusting his hips into” the unnamed 23-year-old victim, who was unconscious, behind a dumpster while they were riding their bikes on a dirt road.

“She was unconscious. The entire time. I checked her and she didn’t move at all,” Fredrik-Arndt said. “The guy stood up, then we saw she wasn’t moving still. So we called him out on it. And the guy ran away, my friend Peter chased after him.”

Last week, Judge Aaron Persky handed Turner a relatively light six-month prison sentence, launching a campaign to remove Persky from the bench.
