WATCH: Seth Meyers Hilariously Roasts Trump's Latest Insane Press Ban

Election '16

For a candidate who boasts so often about being tough, Donald Trump sure is thin-skinned when it comes to the press. The presumptive GOP nominee recently added the Washington Post to his growing list of banned publications.

On Tuesday, “Late Night” host Seth Meyers compared Donald Trump to Joseph McCarthy—to top the list of controversial political figures Trump resembles.

“Trump keeps upping his game. He’s like if Joseph Mc Carthy was exposed to gamma radiation and became a racist orange Hulk with tiny hands,” joked Meyers.

The Washington Post is just the latest of national media outlets to have their credentials revoked by the Trump campaign. The growing list also includes Politico, The Huffington Post, Buzzed, The Daily Beast and Univision. The decision to ban The Post stemmed from a June 13 headline:

“Donald Trump seems to connect President Obama with Orlando shooting.”

Which, of course, he did.

“Sure, Trump didn’t explicitly say it, he implied it with all the subtlety of an eighth grader’s cologne,” Meyers concluded.

And Trump’s defense of the statement was even more vague: “I’ll let people figure that out for themselves," he said.

"The worst part about Trump’s campaign isn’t just that he says crazy sh*t, but that he expects us to figure out the crazy sh*t he says," Meyers said. "Listening to Trump is like opening up a fortune cookie, ‘When it comes to catching worms, the early bird is the best, believe me, everyone says so.'”

And in solidarity with the Washington Post and so many others, Meyers officially banned Trump from his show.
