Watch: John Oliver Wants America to Meet a Likely President Even Worse Than Trump

Trump’s off-the-cuff offensiveness isn’t confined to American politics. In fact, politicians worldwide are gaining notoriety through the same and in some cases even worse tactics. The Philippines’ presidential election takes place today, and their race has an extremely controversial frontrunner. Rodrigo Duterte is “a colorful character, to say the least,’” John Oliver, host of Last Week Tonight said on Sunday's show.

As mayor, presiding over a mass wedding, Duterte abruptly announced on stag, “I don’t have money to give, but I could give your wives something else—and this is for the wives only. Men, I’m sorry but you don’t get anything because I’m not a queer.”

“Wow, that kind of homophobia during a wedding usually only happens when the father of the bride has six whiskey sours and decides to tell everyone what he really thinks about Cam and Mitchell on ‘Modern Family.’ Not a fan," Oliver relayed.

But that’s not all. Duterte kisses his female supporters, called the pope a "son of a bitch" and isn’t sure how many people he’s killed.

“Since he’s been mayor, extrajudicial death squads have reportedly killed over 1,000 people, and while he denies any involvement in that, he does admit he’s got blood on his hands,” Oliver reported.

“Three months early on I killed about three people,” Duterte admitted, a sentence which shocked Oliver, but not just because the government official was admitting to murder.

“About three people?! That’s not good, not knowing how many people you’ve killed is like not knowing how many Vicodin you took. If you don’t know the exact number, the answer is ‘way too f*cking many.’” Oliver exclaimed.

It gets even worse. Watch:
