Exclusive Footage: Stories From New York Primary Voters

On Tuesday, New York State voted in the presidential primary, as most people know. What far fewer people know is that New Yorkers were also electing state assembly members. The Working Families Party, which has endorsed Bernie Sanders for president, vigorously campaigned to get more progressive leaders elected on a local level. On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton maintained her double-digit lead, while Republican frontrunner Donald Trump was slated to win big, by at least 50 percent in his home state.

We spoke to registered Democrats including SEIU member Jeremy Birchwood, architect Anthony Desimone, and high school teacher Rebecca Merz about who they voted for on Tuesday. Their answers may surprise you.
