PBS Show Inadvertently Features Trump Supporter's White Power Tattoos

PBS News Hour this week ran a story about the Tilly family, who have never previously engaged in electoral politics, but have recently been inspired to get active. Their chosen candidate? Donald Trump. Their reason for choosing him? In the case of at least one family member, the answer might be connected to the gigantic white power tattoos on her hands.

Though the PBS story makes no mention of it, Gawker first noticed the tattoos in an otherwise mundane scene. As Grace Tilly works the phones for Donald Trump, it’s almost impossible to miss the huge Celtic cross on the back of one of her hands. Though traditional Celtic crosses have been around for eons and aren’t necessarily racist, the stylized version displayed on Grace’s hand has been identified by the Anti-Defamation League as one of the most “commonly used white supremacist symbols.”

Another shot captures a tattoo of the number 88 on Grace’s other hand, which Neo-Nazis often use as code for Heil Hitler. (“H” is the eighth letter of the alphabet, so “88” equals “HH.”)
