Perhaps the Most Hilarious Holiday PSA You'll Ever See: 73-Year-Old Snorting Coke at Traffic Stop

The Seattle Police have a very unusual holiday safety message for motorists: Don't snort coke at traffic stops.

The message comes in the form of a PSA on the Seattle Police Blotter blog featuring dashcam video of the recent arrest of a 73-year-old driver for trying to get a quick line up his nose after being pulled over for driving without his headlights on.

"Seattle Police are conducting extra safety patrols this holiday season," reads the message from police superimposed over footage of the bust in question. "Please pull right if you see a patrol car's festive flashing lights. Be prepared to present your license and registration to officers."

And then, after watching the driver get caught and busted, "Please abstain from using cocaine, especially during a traffic stop."

Officer Nic Abts-Olsen had informed the driver of his infraction and returned to his squad car with the man's driver's license and registration, but upon walking back to the vehicle, he saw the driver dumping white powder on his arm. The driver, startled by Abts-Olsen's unexpectedly quick return, spills his vial, dumping cocaine all over the car.

"What’s in your left hand?" the officer asks.

"Nothing," replies the driver.

"Are you kidding?" the incredulous cop asks. "You're about to snort coke right here on the side of the road?"

Even as he handcuffs the man at the front of his squad car, Abts-Olsen still can't believe it.

"Why—why—what possessed you to do that on a traffic stop with a police officer right behind you? I just don't understand."

"I don't understand, either," the man replies. "I've never even had a traffic ticket."

"But I just saw that," the gobsmacked cop replies. "I was just going to come up and give you a warning."
