WATCH: Sanders & Clinton Have Bonding Moment at Debate Over Email Scandal Stupidity
Bernie Sanders had a chance to pile on Hillary Clinton during the debate Tuesday night on the issue of the Benghazi email scandal but instead backed his putative opponent with full force. After Anderson Cooper repeatedly pressed Clinton on the issue he turned to the Vermont Senator, but Bernie wasn't having any of it.
"Let me say something," Sanders said, "This may not be great politics, but I think [Clinton] is right. And that's that the American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails!" With this, the democratic Nevada crowd erupted with applause.
"Thank you", Clinton said, "me too, me too."
"I go around this country and talk to a lot of people," Sanders added. "The middle class in this country is collapsing. We have 27 million people living in poverty, we have massive wealth and income inequality, the American people want to know if we're going to have a democracy rather than oligarchy... enough with the emails. Let's talk about the real issues."
