'Wait, You're Still in the Tree?': Texas Man Gives Bizarre Real-Time TV Interview During Flood (VIDEO)

Viewers in Austin had a brief respite from the flooding that has been ravaging central Texas for days with a bizarre but hilarious live interview with Kerry Packer Friday morning.

Packer, whose car got stuck in flood waters a mere five minutes after leaving his home, found his way atop a tree and called up local Austin ABC affiliate KVUE to describe his experience. The two anchors, however, had no idea he was still caught up in the action until the interview was long underway.

"As soon as the car was almost filled with water," Packer said, "I slipped past the tree and jump into the tree. So, I'm about 20 feet up a tree right now."

"Wait, you're still in the tree?" the male anchor asks in shock.

Packer answers, "Yeah."

It's an amusing testament to calm, and media savvy, under pressure.
