This week, Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) threw his lot in with these opponents when he came out against the deal, even saying he would try to influence additional Democrats to oppose it.

The event itself was eye-opening. As Cruz was speaking, an attendee yelled out that Muslims had infiltrated the government. Cruz didn't react specifically, but did go on to say Obama had become the biggest funder of Islamic radicalism in the world.
The future leader of the Senate Democrats has found some strange bedfellows.
